Professional SME based near Sutton in Ashfield have an immediate requirement for a hands-on, experienced and diligent Finance Manager / Management Accountant. You’ll be assisting the Group FD of the £30m turnover business to produce detailed management accounts monthly. You’ll be involved in all aspects of month-end and the routine financial management and reporting (supporting 2 junior members of the team at Assistant Accountant/Clerk level).

Role to start ASAP – ideally early July 2026. It’s a welcoming and collaborative team and you’ll be working for a talented and modern-thinking FD. There is plenty to get stuck into and the FD is looking for an experienced, versatile and calm accountant who will hit the ground running. It’s an enjoyable place to work, deadlines are realistic and there is no requirement for overtime in the office, late nights or opening a laptop over the weekend! It’s a busy and varied role but a sensible work-life balance. Initial assignment is 3 months with the potential to extend depending on circumstances.

Required:

  • Clear demonstrable experience at Management Accountant / Finance Manager / FC level within an SME environment.
  • Ability to undertake an interim assignment to start immediately.
  • A measured and calm approach to picking up new tasks and solving new problems – ability to hit the ground running in an interim assignment (previous experience of contract roles would be useful).
  • Highly organised, diligent and proactive.
  • Ability to manage month-ends smoothly and produce credible draft management accounts for FD level review.
