An established and growing accountancy, tax and advisory firm is looking to recruit an experienced R&D Tax Manager to join its expanding Corporate Tax team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a diverse client base, advising on the identification, preparation, and submission of R&D Tax Relief claims. You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the firm’s R&D proposition while benefiting from a clear progression path and exposure to wider advisory work. You’ll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where quality, technical excellence, and client service are central to everything the firm does.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on R&D tax relief opportunities arising from innovative activities and technological development
- Lead the preparation and delivery of robust R&D tax claims, working closely with tax and technical specialists
- Act as a key point of contact for R&D advisory services for both clients and internal teams
- Support, coach, and upskill colleagues to help them identify R&D opportunities within their client portfolios
- Integrate R&D tax advice with broader tax and advisory services across the firm
- Deliver training and contribute to the ongoing development of the wider tax team
- Get involved in other tax advisory and compliance projects to broaden technical exposure
- Shape the role around your experience and career goals within a flexible, supportive structure
About You:
To be considered, you’ll ideally have:
- A strong track record of delivering R&D Tax Relief claims across a range of sectors and complexities
- Experience gained within a full-service accountancy firm or a reputable specialist R&D tax practice
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience managing, coaching, or mentoring others
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple assignments
- ACA or CTA qualification
- A genuine interest in helping grow and shape an R&D tax offering and building market presence
- Broader tax compliance or advisory experience (advantageous but not essential)
