A Top 50 UK accountancy firm is looking to appoint a Head of Corporate Tax Advisory to lead, grow, and shape its corporate tax advisory offering. This is a senior leadership role with a clear mandate: build a market-leading advisory proposition, deepen client relationships, and develop a high-performing tax team. The firm already has a strong corporate tax compliance base and is now investing further into advisory capability, complexity, and profile. You will work closely with Partners, Managing Directors, and the wider advisory teams to deliver strategic tax advice to entrepreneurial businesses, private groups, and mid-market corporates.

Your Role:

  • Lead the corporate tax advisory strategy across the firm
  • Act as the senior technical and commercial lead on complex advisory work
  • Advise clients on areas including:
  • Corporate tax planning and structuring
  • Group reorganisations and reconstructions
  • Transactions (buy-side and sell-side) and tax due diligence
  • Shareholder and owner-managed business planning
  • International and cross-border considerations (where applicable)
  • Work alongside corporate finance, audit, and transaction teams on deals and strategic projects
  • Play a key role in originating and winning new advisory work
  • Build and mentor a strong pipeline of tax talent, developing Managers and Senior Managers into future leaders
  • Represent the firm externally through networking, referrals, and thought leadership
  • About You:

    • Operating at Director, Senior Director, or Partner Designate level within a Top 50 / Top 30 / strong regional firm
    • CTA and/or ACA qualified
    • Highly experienced in corporate tax advisory, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects
    • Commercially minded, with the ability to spot opportunities and grow client relationships
    • Comfortable working with owner-managed businesses, private groups, and mid-market clients
    • A natural leader who enjoys coaching, mentoring, and building teams
    • Ambitious, but collaborative – keen to shape a service line rather than simply inherit one

    Why This Role?

    • Genuine opportunity to lead and shape a corporate tax advisory offering
    • Clear route to equity or senior leadership, depending on experience
    • Strong existing client base with significant untapped advisory potential
    • Supportive partnership with a long-term growth mindset
    • Hybrid working and flexibility around location
    • Competitive package aligned to seniority and growth impact
