We are looking for a Compliance Risk Officer to work within the Compliance and Risk Department in Northwich, reporting to the Deputy Head of Compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain knowledge of this specialist area.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Deputy Head of Compliance and Head of Compliance on specific activities and projects.
- Producing reports and returns which may involve detailed research and analysis from within and outside the unit.
- Undertaking specific tasks within set terms of reference and defined processes.
- Working with each department and various business units to provide support, advice, and guidance on appropriate compliance framework, policies, and procedures.
- Ensuring all compliance principles, policies, and procedures are clearly defined and regulatory developments are proactively communicated.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Regularly reviewing and keeping up to date with changes in regulatory, legislative, and market practices that impact the business.
Person/Experience Required:
- Educated to degree level, or expected to graduate shortly, in a relevant discipline such as Law, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business, Compliance or a related subject.
- Strong interest in financial services, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Good understanding of, or willingness to learn about, regulatory frameworks and compliance principles within a banking environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review information, identify risks, and exercise sound judgement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks.
- Strong ethical standards with a discreet and professional approach to confidential information.
The role of Compliance within the Bank is to manage compliance proactively and ensure that the Bank, its customers, and its employees are protected, satisfying the regulator with the Bank’s compliance systems and controls. The overall responsibility for the Bank’s systems and controls rests with the Compliance and Risk department, ensuring the implementation of appropriate systems and control procedures relevant to the Bank.
