Your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Process and record financial transactions including invoices, payments, receipts.
- Monitor and reconcile bank statements and company accounts on a regular basis.
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, budget reports, and cash flow forecasts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable ledgers, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with audits by providing relevant documentation and responding to queries.
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
- Support the preparation and submission of tax returns (e.g., VAT, payroll taxes) where required.
- Provide administrative support to the Finance team as needed.
Person/Experience required:
- Someone who has completed their A levels (or equivalent).
- No prior professional experience required – full training provided.
- Someone committed to their professional development and willing to work towards a recognised finance qualification (e.g. AAT or ACCA).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
