Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out development, testing and implementation of software enhancements in an Oracle database, using Oracle APEX and SAP Business Object reporting.
  • Coordinating IT business information/activities including interpretation of technical documentation.
  • Recommending solutions for technical aspects of projects as well as broad system improvements.
  • Producing good quality documentation.
  • Writing and understanding database queries using SQL.
  • Planning and managing project work-streams.
  • Supporting members of staff with their general IT support issues via Service Desk requests.

Required skills and experience:

  • Software development experience including knowledge of development methodologies.
  • Relational database knowledge and experience, including SQL.
  • Experience of system or application design and implementation.
  • Ability to use test plans to perform accurate system testing and write concise but good quality documentation of the outcome.
  • Experience of designing, proposing and implementing software.
  • Exposure to databases in a Linux/UNIX environment.
  • Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle database knowledge.
  • Oracle Application Express (APEX) knowledge.
  • JavaScript knowledge.
  • Unit Testing experience.
  • SAP Business Objects or Crystal Reports knowledge.
