Job Description

EXPERIENCED SKILLED MET TECHNICIAN

As an Experienced Skilled MET Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out the safe removal, repair, and refitting of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on a wide variety of accident-damaged vehicles. Working to manufacturer repair methods, you'll ensure every vehicle is repaired efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality.

Daily Responsibilities

  • identify additional repair requirements
  • Carry out repairs using manufacturer-approved methods and industry best practices
  • Complete vehicle strip and rebuild operations to support the repair process
  • Work closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians, and Vehicle Damage Assessors to ensure efficient vehicle progression
  • Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications, BS10125 standards, and company quality procedures
  • Carry out quality checks before vehicle handover to ensure repairs meet exceptional standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment while following all Health & Safety and COSHH procedures

About You

  • Previous experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle systems

Technicians, and Workshop Controllers, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs while continuing to develop your skills in a supportive and forward-thinking working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles
  • Diagnose damaged components and,
  • Experience carrying out vehicle strip, repair, and rebuild procedures
  • Ability to interpret manufacturer repair methods and technical information
  • Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (advantageous but not essential)
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to first-class workmanship
  • Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment while meeting productivity targets
  • Positive team player with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to delivering outstanding customer satisfaction
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
