Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an organised and detail-focused Health & Safety Coordinator to provide administrative and organisational support across the organisation's health and safety activities, whilst also getting involved in a more hands on approach. This role could potentially have the opportunity to work across the group of companies and will support the Manager in maintaining a safe working environment that complies with relevant Health & Safety legislation, policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate health and safety records and documentation, supporting the review and updating of policies and procedures, and assisting with risk assessments and COSHH assessments. The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance & Service Manager and Operations Director and will play an important role in promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.

Job Description for the Health & Safety Coordinator

  • Maintain accurate health and safety records, documentation, and databases.
  • Assist with the preparation, review, and updating of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Support the completion and maintenance of risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe working procedures.
  • Record, monitor, and assist with the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards
  • Coordinate health and safety inspections, audits, and workplace checks.
  • Maintain records of employee health and safety training, qualifications, and certifications
  • Arrange health and safety training, including refresher training where required.
  • Monitor compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and report any issues to management
  • Assist with fire safety checks, emergency procedures, and workplace safety inspections
  • Maintain records relating to PPE, safety equipment, inspections, and servicing.
  • Prepare health and safety reports, spreadsheets, statistics, and management information
  • Liaise with employees, managers, contractors, and external health and safety professionals
  • Assist with ensuring actions identified from audits, inspections, and investigations are followed up and completed

Candidate Requirements for the Health & Safety Coordinator

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification
  • NEBOSH qualification is desirable
  • Previous Health & Safety admin experience or compliance training is an advantage
  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within a health and safety, construction, manufacturing, or similar environment
  • A good understanding of workplace health and safety principles
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Confident communicating with employees and managers at different levels of an organisation
  • Strong record-keeping and compliance awareness
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines

Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Β£32,000 - Β£35,000 Per Annum
