Senior Planner / Planning Lead – Tier 1 Main Contractor

A leading international contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Planner / Planning Lead to join one of London's most significant construction projects.
This is a rare opportunity to become involved at the preconstruction stage of a landmark redevelopment that will deliver almost 2,000 student rooms across multiple high‑rise buildings, together with extensive amenity space, public realm and support facilities in the heart of Central London.
The role initially operates within the preconstruction team, spending approximately 12 months developing and coordinating the integrated delivery programme, construction strategy and procurement sequencing before transitioning into a project‑based Planning Lead role during construction.
You will take ownership of the project's master programme, working closely with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure successful programme development and delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the fully integrated master programme using Asta Powerproject.
- Lead programme coordination throughout preconstruction and construction phases.
- Develop detailed construction sequencing, phasing and logistics strategies for a constrained Central London site.
- Coordinate interfaces between design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
- Support the development of delivery methodologies and construction strategies.
- Undertake critical path analysis, risk assessments and mitigation planning.
- Chair programme workshops and planning meetings.
- Monitor progress and identify corrective actions where required.
- Produce programme reports for senior leadership and client teams.
- Manage programme quality, logic and reporting standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner or Planning Lead on major construction projects.
- Strong Asta Powerproject experience is essential.
- Experience delivering large residential, PBSA, mixed‑use or high‑rise developments.
