Job Description
We're looking for an experienced, talented Purchasing Manager with an engineering background, for one of our clients in Greater Manchester. The business is an exceptional global engineering company with a strong heritage and an established position as a global market leader.

About You
You'll have proven purchasing or procurement management experience within engineering. Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with experience managing complex supply chains. CIPS/MCIPS qualification or equivalent professional standard. Engineering qualification or strong technical aptitude, including the ability to read engineering drawings. Experience with MRP/ERP systems, ideally SAP. Experience managing and developing a purchasing team. Willingness to undertake occasional overseas travel.
About the Job
- Lead strategic and operational purchasing activity across the site.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with wider business objectives.
- Manage the purchasing budget, supplier relationships and high-value contract negotiations.
- Drive cost savings, continuous improvement and supply chain resilience.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Finance to ensure material availability.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of six direct reports.
