Job Purpose
Oversee the financial control environment ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations and be a key member and effective contributor within the Group Finance team.

- Job Overview
Ensure that documented controls are in place and maintained across the Group to mitigate risk, ensure compliance and to identify opportunities for further efficiencies.
Conduct regular audits of key financial processes and controls to test effectiveness and adherence to standards.
Work closely with the Financial Reporting Manager to ensure the requirements of the annual statutory audit (external) are coordinated and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain an internal audit risk register for the Group covering all aspects of financial management (including Taxation).
- Lead and work collaboratively with individual company finance teams to drive an understanding and discipline around the control environment.
- Provide training and guidance to finance staff on control procedures and compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular audits covering key controls (across all Group companies) prioritised with reference to the level of risk determined in the risk register.
- Highlight weaknesses and provide follow up guidance and support to strengthen.
- Identify areas for further efficiencies in financial operations and work collaboratively with finance leaders to implement change(s).
- Provide detailed reports for senior management regarding the effectiveness of financial controls and risk management strategies.
- Manage key stakeholders across the group including the Group CFO and senior Finance team Heads.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote best practices in financial management.
- Provide input to systems development activity with a focus on reporting, measurement, and control requirements.
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting tasks as and when required by the Group team.
Skills and experience required
- Must have a recognised accountancy qualification
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of financial management procedures
- Ability to use the various mainstream finance and reporting tools: for example, Excel, Word.
- Possess strong communication skills with the ability to engage assertively with key stakeholders across the Group and to produce clear, concise and coherent written reports.
