Role & What’s in it for the applicant:

This is a rare opportunity to join a public-sector organisation with genuine technical depth, running and evolving its own data centre and enterprise network estate. Rather than being siloed or boxed into BAU, you’ll work across network design, deployment, support, and continuous improvement, with real influence over direction and standards. The environment is complex, security-focused, and evolving - ideal for engineers who enjoy ownership, responsibility, and seeing the direct impact of their work. There are multiple hires at different levels, including senior roles with technical leadership and light people management, making this suitable for engineers looking to step up without becoming detached from the tech.

    Benefits:

    • Hybrid working - typically 2 days per week in the office, flexibility supported.
    • Office locations in Hull or Sheffield.
    • On-call allowance of £4,000 per annum.
    • Fully funded NPPV3, with progression to SC Clearance.
    • Clear growth path as the team expands from 6 to 10 network engineers.
    • Stable public-sector environment with long-term investment in technology.
