The Abbey School is seeking to appoint a highly effective Head of MFL to join the Languages Department, to start from 27th August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, uphold the highest standards of teaching and leadership, and be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment within the Modern Foreign Languages and across the wider school community. They will provide strategic direction, inspire both staff and students, and drive excellence in language education.

This is a full time, permanent role, paid on the STPC Main/Upper Pay Range, dependant on experience, with a TLR2b allowance of £5,871. The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £5,000 which is split into the following payments - £2,500 subject to the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, and a further £2,500 to be paid upon one year service.
