Person Specification: Director of Learning – Farnham Learning Centre
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management, or a related field.
- Proven qualifications in leadership and management, particularly in an educational environment.
Experience:
- Extensive experience in educational leadership and line management of staff.
- Significant experience working with students with SEMH needs and awareness of SEND.
- Familiarity with alternative education practices and methods.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and evaluating educational programs.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership, team, and middle management skills, fostering positive and inclusive environments (e.g., Head of Year, Subject Lead, Assistant Headteacher).
- Excellent organisational and strategic planning capabilities.
- Effective problem-solving abilities with a focus on outcomes.
- Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in educational technology and its integration into teaching practices.
Knowledge:
- Sound understanding of educational standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Awareness of safeguarding policies and practices to ensure student welfare.
Personal Attributes:
- Empathy and commitment to supporting students with educational challenges.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to lead staff and connect with stakeholders.
