At AA, we’re looking for a Value Stream Engineering Lead to join our incredible Digital Engineering team. You’ll be responsible for leading and optimising the end-to-end delivery of value within a specific value stream. This role involves ensuring that development teams are aligned with business objectives, improving processes, and driving continuous delivery of high-quality products and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies, engineering management, and a deep understanding of the value stream concept.
What will I be doing?
- Lead and manage engineering teams to ensure alignment with business goals and smooth flow of value from idea to customer delivery.
- Continuously assess and improve value stream processes, implementing best practices in agile methodologies, DevOps, and continuous delivery.
- Drive automation and tooling improvements to support efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure value stream effectiveness, and present regular reports to senior management.
- Ensure engineering practices adhere to high standards of quality and reliability, enforcing best practices in testing, code review, and quality assurance.
What do I need?
- Extensive experience in software engineering, including design, development, testing, and deployment, with a deep knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and value stream mapping.
- Strong demonstrable experience with managing complex digital platform projects from inception to delivery within variety of scope and scale.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and a strong understanding of security principles and best practices for digital platforms.
- Proven experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Highly numerate, analytical, and innovative, with the ability to identify, nurture, and scale new opportunities while being persuasive and resilient under pressure.
- Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to prioritise, manage, and deliver under tight or conflicting deadlines.
