Shifts

As a patrol you will work on average a 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available. You have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts, vary based on the shift pattern you select.

Roadside Rescue Mechanic

As our Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you’ll go the extra mile for our members. Anything can happen whilst driving, but we are the AA and we get everyone back on the road safely so the show can go on. More importantly you’ll be the friendly face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Start and finish each job from your driveway to the destination, via your van.
  • Work independently across varied locations and conditions while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
  • Use technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Solve problems on the spot, using technical skills and a calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.

Qualifications

  • NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
  • Full category B driving licence with 6 points or less.
  • Confidence using and adapting to new technology; we’ll provide the tools, you bring curiosity.
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
