Overview

Salary: Guaranteed minimum c. £37,002 for CE (HGV 1) license, £33,522 for C (HGV 2) license. This includes a location allowance. On Target Earnings: £43,175 for CE, £37,520 for C license.

Shifts: Rolling roster, work 18 days out of every 28, with two full weekends off. Standard shift duration is 9 hours 45 minutes, including a 45-minute break. Flexibility required: you may be required to work up to 12 hours (including breaks) depending on operational needs. Depot postcode: G40 3JT. This is a night shifts only position. To be eligible for this role you must live within 25 miles or 1 hour travel from the depot.

Role description

As an HGV Recovery Driver, you’ll often work independently, but the moment you step out of your truck, you become a source of calm and confidence. With empathy and resilience, you’ll support members through stressful moments, using your technical expertise to recover vehicles safely and efficiently. Whether it’s transporting a vehicle to a garage or helping someone reach their destination, you’ll make a real difference in their day and their journey.

What will I be doing?

  • Delivering exceptional service by safely recovering vehicles and reassuring customers during breakdowns, helping them get back on the road quickly.
  • Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
  • Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.
  • Staying solution-focused and compliant with EU Regulations you bring the curiosity.
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
