Join our Broker Trading team and play a key role in shaping the performance of our Motor, Van and Home insurance portfolios. Working alongside the Head of Trading, you'll help deliver our trading strategy, ensuring we achieve our growth, value and performance objectives.
Using data and market insight, you'll identify opportunities, monitor trading performance and support key trading decisions that drive commercial success. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across Pricing, Proposition and Growth to deliver trading activity and help ensure our products remain competitive in a fast-moving market.
What will I be doing?
- You’ll own the day to day performance of the trading plan and achieve portfolio growth and value targets across the Motor, Van and Home insurance portfolios.
- Monitoring trading performance, identifying trends and recommending actions to improve sales, retention, customer outcomes and commercial performance.
- Presenting trading insights and performance updates to senior stakeholders, highlighting risks, opportunities and key recommendations.
- Collaborating with Pricing, Proposition, Growth and Operational teams to deliver trading initiatives, customer offers and portfolio improvements.
- Owning the retention discount approach, developing compelling offers that deliver commercial value and support customer retention.
- Analysing competitor activity, price comparison websites and market trends to identify opportunities and recommend trading actions.
- Producing detailed trading analysis to benchmark performance, uncover insights and drive continuous improvement.
- Acting as the key trading link across Operations, Digital, Proposition and Growth teams to ensure alignment with the wider trading strategy.
- Supporting the development and delivery of trading forecasts across the Motor, Van and Home insurance portfolios.
- Ensuring all trading activity complies with regulatory requirements, governance standards and delivers positive customer outcomes.
What do I need?
- You’ll have experience of managing commercial trading performance within B2C insurance or another regulated consumer business.
- Strong commercial mindset with a focus on growth, retention, customer value and business performance.
- Ability to use data and insight to identify opportunities and improve commercial outcomes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence interpreting complex data.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across multiple teams.
- Experience working collaboratively with Pricing, Finance, Proposition and other cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights and recommendations clearly to a range of audiences.
- Graduate calibre or equivalent professional experience; relevant insurance, commercial, analytical or financial qualifications are desirable.
- Knowledge of Motor, Van or Home insurance and an understanding of insurance portfolio economics and customer retention drivers is desirable.
- Self-motivated, proactive and accountable, with the ability to prioritise work and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
