Position
Lead Content Designer – 12‑Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC).

Responsibilities
- Set the vision, standards, governance and frameworks for content design across large scale digital journeys.
- Lead, coach and develop the content design team, building capability, confidence and clear progression pathways.
- Champion accessible, inclusive, user‑centred and compliant content, including FCA aligned best practice where relevant.
- Partner with Product, Design, CRO, Legal, Compliance and senior business stakeholders to align content strategy with customer and business outcomes.
- Use research, behavioural data, performance insight and customer evidence to shape content decisions and improve journey performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in content design practice, including the responsible use of emerging tools and AI where they can improve quality, consistency and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Senior level content design, UX writing or content strategy expertise, gained across complex digital journeys and customer focused environments.
- Experience in acquisition‑led, commercial, regulated or customer service‑based organisations would be beneficial, particularly where content has had a clear impact on conversion, digital self‑service, customer understanding or service outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of UX, accessibility, inclusive design, plain English and regulatory compliance, with the ability to embed best practice across teams.
- A proven track record of leading content design strategy at organisational level, not just delivering individual content changes.
- Experience building, coaching and developing content design teams, including capability frameworks, standards and ways of working.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively and secure alignment across product, customer experience and business priorities.
- Confidence using research, data and performance insight to demonstrate measurable impact for customers and the organisation.
