Join The AA as our Roadside Recovery Driver. You will go the extra mile for our customers, ensuring they get back on the road safely and their day moving again.
On Target Earnings: £44,720 for CE, £39,065 for C
Salary: Guaranteed minimum c. £37,460 for CE (HGV 1) license, £34,088 for C (HGV 2) license (includes a location allowance)
Depot Postcode: RG2 0QA
Shifts: Rolling Roster, working 18 out of 28 days with 2 weekends off. Standard Shifts are 9 hours 45 mins (including 45 min break). End of shift flexibility is required, meaning you may work up to 12 hours in a shift including breaks.
We provide full uniform, boots, and the best available equipment, along with free breakdown cover from day one, equivalent of 23 days holidays (increases with service) plus bank holidays, and up to 7% company pension contribution.
You will be the friendly face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation. To our customers, you’re the superhero. Ready for anything, you’ll be there for them, anytime, anywhere and in any weather. You’ll use your technical skills to load vehicles onto your truck and get the vehicle and customer to a garage for repair, or wherever they need to be.
What will I be doing?
- A communicator: You’re great with your customers, providing a calming influence, reassuring and professional in all situations.
- A self-starter: You will be content working independently, as well as collaborating as part of a team, driving to different locations in all weathers.
- A fixer/problem solver: You thrive in all situations, utilising your expertise to solve a variety of issues.
What do I need?
- To live within 25 miles OR 1 hour's travel from the depot postcode.
- A full driving category C driving licence (HGV 2). Ideally, you’ll hold the CE (HGV 1) licence too, although this isn’t essential as we can help you with this.
- A Driver CPC (certificate of professional competence) qualification, and a digital drivers/tachograph card.
- Comfortable adapting to new technology - training will be provided.
- Willingness to work shifts, which include evenings, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
