About The Role
Most food safety roles focus on maintaining what's already there. This one is different. We're a business in transformation, evolving from a single-brand, single-channel business into a multi-brand, multi-channel nutrition platform. As we expand our brands, products, customers and routes to market, maintaining robust food safety standards becomes more important than ever. That's where you come in. We're looking for a Food Safety Systems Specialist to become the driving force behind our Food Safety Management System, someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, improving processes, influencing standards and ensuring food safety remains embedded in everything we do.
This isn't a role hidden away behind documentation and audits. You'll work across the business, partnering with colleagues from Operations, Supply Chain, Product Development and Leadership to ensure our systems not only remain compliant, but continue to evolve alongside the business. If you're looking for an opportunity where you can take genuine ownership, influence how food safety is managed, and play a visible role in supporting business growth, we'd love to hear from you.
What will I be doing?
This is a highly visible role that sits at the heart of our Technical function, working closely with colleagues across Operations, Supply Chain, Product Development and the wider business. You'll take ownership of our Food Safety Management System (FSMS), ensuring it remains effective, compliant, audit-ready and capable of supporting a growing and increasingly diverse business. You'll be responsible for maintaining and continually improving the systems, documentation, governance and processes that underpin food safety across the organisation.
- Manage document control, procedures, policies and food safety records
- Lead the internal audit programme, including planning, tracking and follow-up actions
- Facilitate food safety meetings and monitor key food safety performance indicators
- Coordinate traceability exercises and food safety verification activities
- Maintain training matrices and lead food safety training initiatives
- Support supplier assurance activities, audits and performance reviews
- Analyse food safety data and provide meaningful insight to stakeholders
- Partner with operational teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Am I the right person for this role?
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, collaborative approach. Ideally, with Level 3 qualifications in HACCP and Food Safety and understanding of BRCGS standards. You may already be working in a Food Safety Systems, Quality Systems, Technical Systems, Compliance or Technical Coordinator role and be looking for an opportunity where you can take greater ownership and influence.
You’ll bring:
- Experience working within a food manufacturing environment operating to a recognised food safety standard
- Strong knowledge of food safety systems, compliance and auditing processes
- Experience coordinating or maintaining food safety and/or quality management systems
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety risk management
- Internal auditing experience and confidence conducting audits independently
- Excellent organisation and document control skills
Benefits
- Business Performance Award
- 10% Employer Pension Contribution
- Up to 30 days holiday a year with a holiday purchase scheme
- Celebrate your birthday off work
- Health Care Cash Plan where you can claim back costs and potentially avoid waiting times
- Bi-annual health check-ups
- Free The 1:1 Diet products, for a nutritionally complete meal when you need it
- Enhanced family leave, for the moments that really matter
