ABOUT US

Our mission is to unlock opportunity where Black talent thrives – with employers, for the future of work.

We launched in 2020 with the 100 Black Interns pilot, a direct response to the lack of Black representation in investment management. Within a year, we created over 500 paid internships across more than 200 firms. The results spoke for themselves – because only one thing in the world is equally distributed, and that’s talent.

Today, as the 10,000 Interns Foundation, we’ve created over 10,000 paid internship opportunities across 35 sectors, working with more than 1,000 organisations to transform how talent is seen, hired, and supported. We design and scale intentional programmes, partner with employers to drive long-term cultural change, and use insight to reshape recruitment and retention across the UK workforce.

What we do:

  • Paid internships at scale – opening up meaningful opportunities for Black talent across sectors.
  • Workplace transformation – challenging organisations to rethink recruitment, hiring, and retention systems.
  • Insight & action – using data from thousands of internships to inform inclusive, effective workplace practices.

We don’t stop at internships. We’re building a vibrant alumni network, delivering training, mentoring, insight days and inclusive workplace events, so that the young people we support are equipped, connected, and backed long after the internship ends.

We know this work matters. We’ve seen the impact. And we’re only just getting started.
