We are looking for a CAD/Output & QA Technician to turn captured scan and image data into practical, high-quality deliverables for design, fabrication, planning, measurement, digital twin, and immersive use cases. This is the post-processing engine of the Spatial Capture team. You will take raw or semi-processed data from field capture through cleanup, QA, orthographic output generation, CAD-ready base creation, lightweight 3D packaging, and delivery preparation. The role is about making the data useful, not just technically correct.
What You Will Be Doing
- Ingest, organise, and manage scan/image datasets received from field capture in line with team standards.
- Clean and prepare point cloud and image-based datasets for downstream use.
- Support registration/alignment workflows and structured QA checks.
- Generate orthophotos, CAD-ready bases, dimension packs, technical exports, and lightweight 3D outputs for different stakeholder groups.
- Produce designer-friendly and client-friendly packages, including annotated visuals, simplified models, panoramas, and curated views where required.
- Work directly with design, fabrication, CS, and technical stakeholders to understand output requirements and maintain consistent standards.
- Prepare outputs suitable for planning, staging, VR review, digital twins, measurements, and concept development.
- Production of measurement grade 2D CAD outputs (plans, elevations, sections) suitable for artwork overlay and planning or costing requirements.
- Creation of structured measurement and site reports derived from scan data for client presentation and review.
- Maintain QA logs, file versioning, metadata, and documentation for delivered outputs.
- Help shape templates, output packs, naming standards, and packaging rules for the department.
- Support future integration into Quest/Quest X, LIVE·TEAM’s developing internal workflow and operational platform.
- Help ensure scan data, outputs, and related project information are stored, structured, and reusable within wider business processes.
The Skills And Experience You Need
- Strong experience handling point cloud and/or photogrammetry outputs for CAD, design, survey, or digital twin workflows.
- Experience creating 2D CAD plans, base drawings, sections, elevations, or similar spatial outputs from scan-derived data.
- Good understanding of point cloud cleanup, output QA, accuracy checking, and structured file management.
- Comfortable working with CAD/modelling/visualisation tools relevant to scan-derived deliverables.
- Experience preparing data for downstream design, planning, fabrication, VR, or staging uses.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to technically reliable outputs.
- Able to translate specialist data into formats non-specialist teams can actually use.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and delivery priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with FARO ecosystems, RealityScan, Autodesk ReCap, Rhino, Revit, Navisworks, CloudWorx, SketchUp or comparable tooling.
- Experience producing digital twin views, immersive review assets, or lightweight 3D scene packages.
- Experience in live events, venue planning, branded environments, retail, experiential, or architectural visualisation.
- Familiarity with QA/QC checklists, BIM-adjacent workflows, or scan-to-model pipelines.
What Success Looks Like
- Reliable, usable outputs produced from captured data without excessive manual rework.
- Strong QA discipline and traceable delivery packs.
- Output formats that actually help design, planning, fabrication, and client teams.
- Good turnaround times from handoff to delivery.
- Cleaner standards, better documentation, and reusable templates over time.
- Deliver measurement outputs that are clear, accurate, and ready for direct use across clients, design teams, and operations or production teams.
