About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and technically competent System Administrator to support and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, cloud services, virtual desktop environments, and end user computing platforms.
The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of enterprise systems across on premises and cloud environments, including Microsoft 365, VDI platforms, and core infrastructure services.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and technology teams, the System Administrator will provide operational support, manage incidents and service requests, assist with security monitoring and compliance activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services and user experience across the organization.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and monitor servers, operating systems, cloud services, and enterprise infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
- Manage and support Microsoft 365 services, including user administration, Teams, Share Point, and related collaboration platforms.
- Administer and support virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments, including VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity, and implement proactive measures to optimize infrastructure utilization and service availability.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and identity related services in accordance with organisational security policies and access control requirements.
- Support security operations through system monitoring, log analysis, incident investigation, and collaboration with relevant teams on security incident response activities.
- Administer and maintain IT service management processes using platforms such as Service Now or Jira Service Management, including incident, service request, and change management activities.
- Perform software deployment, patch management, system upgrades, backup administration, and disaster recovery support to maintain a secure and resilient environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, asset inventories, software licences, and technical standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and technology teams to troubleshoot issues, implement infrastructure improvements, and support ongoing technology initiatives.
- Perform other related tasks as when required.
- Job Requirements
- A Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in system administration, infrastructure support, or a similar IT operations role.
- Hands on experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including user management, Teams, Share Point, and related collaboration technologies.
- Experience supporting and maintaining virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) platforms such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, and/or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, virtualisation, storage, networking, and enterprise systems administration.
- Familiarity with IT service management principles and tools, including Service Now, Jira Service Management, and ITIL based processes.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security monitoring practices, identity and access management, and security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and CIS Controls.
- Experience with software asset management, licence administration, patch management, operations, and system lifecycle management is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
