The Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and people-focused Tour Manager to lead and develop the visitor experience at Myrtle Farm. This role will be responsible for delivering engaging, informative and memorable tours that showcase the Thatchers story, our cider-making heritage, our orchards and our commitment to quality. The Tour Manager will ensure every visitor receives a warm welcome and leaves with a strong understanding of our brand, values and passion for cider-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the tour experience at Myrtle Farm, ensuring tours are consistently engaging, informative and professionally delivered.
  • Welcome visitors and create a positive first impression of Thatchers, delivering excellent customer service at every stage of the visit.
  • Tell the Thatchers story with confidence, covering our history, cider-making process, orchards, products and Somerset heritage.
  • Coordinate tour bookings, schedules, group visits and visitor communications, ensuring a smooth and well-organised experience.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the cider mill, shop, Railway Inn and the wider business to ensure visitors receive an authentic and joined-up experience.
  • Ensure all tours are delivered safely and in line with site rules, health and safety requirements and food production standards.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation across visitor areas, ensuring tour routes, tasting areas and guest spaces are clean, tidy and welcoming.
  • Support tasting sessions, product sampling, and visitor engagement activities in a responsible and knowledgeable way.
  • Gather visitor feedback and use it to continually improve the tour experience.
  • Represent the Thatchers brand with pride, professionalism and enthusiasm.

What we're looking for

  • A confident communicator who enjoys meeting people and bringing stories to life.
  • Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, events, customer service, retail or visitor attractions would be beneficial.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage bookings, schedules and visitor expectations.
  • A warm, friendly and professional approach, with a strong focus on customer experience.
  • An interest in cider, food and drink, farming, heritage or local tourism.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups of different sizes and adapting style to suit different audiences.
