An innovative design practice is looking for a motivated Architectural Technician to join its planning-focused team, contributing to residential and mixed-use developments from early-stage feasibility through to detailed planning submissions. This role offers exposure to masterplanning, site layout design, placemaking strategy, and the preparation of comprehensive planning application packages. You will work closely with project leaders and architects to develop concept proposals, produce supporting visuals, and prepare documentation for outline, full, and reserved matters applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of feasibility layouts and concept masterplans
- Supporting design development for residential and mixed-use schemes
- Production of planning drawing packs and supporting documentation
- Creation of 3D visualisations and presentation materials
- Assisting with coordination of planning consultants and external stakeholders
- Supporting project leaders through design workshops and client meetings
- Managing multiple projects concurrently within agreed timeframes
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ UK experience on residential-led projects
- Experience working with developer clients or housebuilders
- Strong interest in placemaking, residential design and urban context
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Good working knowledge of SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, proactive and detail-oriented
- Motivated to develop professionally through CPD
