An exciting construction Site Supervisor role with a high-spec commercial refurbishment contractor.
This role would suit someone that can handle pressure and prioritise their workload. You will be a self-starter that works in a pro-active manner and is able to communicate at all levels with clients, suppliers, and contractors. You will have experience of supervising or working on interior fit-out and/or building projects and will be capable of managing all onsite activities on a day-to-day basis, reporting back to the project manager or administration team. Due to the nature of work for some of our clients, there will be a requirement to undertake security clearances. We are looking to grow the team to cover the growing workloads in the region; however, the business does work nationally and the role will involve periods of staying away in the week when required, hotel accommodation & subsistence will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- As Site Supervisor you will have a ‘step-up, step-down’ approach to working within a team to cover all practical aspects of a project with the objective of exceeding our clients’ expectations. This will include:
- Pre-contract: Surveys, support with the implementation of Health & Safety plan.
- Construction Phase:
- Site set up & preparation
- Completing daily site paperwork (Inductions / Permits / Audits / Inspections)
- Maintaining project plan, scheduling and checking of materials and labour to ensure uninterrupted work and good productivity, site liaison with the client, authorities and subcontractors as required.
- Site supervision sub-contractors, contract administration, variation control (inc. communicating implications to cost and programme), progressive snagging (appraisal and application)
- Liaise with project manager and stakeholders
- Attend site meetings with project manager / client representatives
- Comfortable to oversee most aspects of carpentry, partitioning, ceiling installation and general building skills on site to suit project requirements.
Key Skills Required
- PC literate – MS Word, MS Excel (MS Project desirable)
- Good communicator – written, oral and numerate
- A qualification in Health and Safety site supervision and site experience, SMSTS qualification
- To have successfully completed a First Aid course
- Able to solve problems creatively and prioritise workloads
