Quantity Surveyor - *Relocation to Bermuda*

Location: Hamilton, Bermuda (this role requires relocation to Bermuda)

About the Company

Our client is a well-established independent construction consultancy providing professional cost management, project management and construction consultancy services across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout Bermuda. Working with private clients, developers, investors and commercial organisations, the consultancy provides independent advice throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial feasibility and budgeting through to procurement, contract administration and project completion. Their reputation has been built over many years by delivering high-quality professional services across residential, commercial, hospitality and mixed-use developments. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their collaborative and highly respected team. The company are open from Graduate Quantity Surveyors level through to Professional Quantity Surveyors.

The Role

Working within a multidisciplinary consultancy, you will be involved in the financial management of construction projects from inception through to final account. You will provide professional quantity surveying and cost management services while working closely with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

This position offers exposure to a broad range of high-value construction projects and provides the opportunity to develop professionally within a respected consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare feasibility estimates, cost plans and project budgets.
  • Provide cost advice throughout all stages of project delivery.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities and tender documentation.
  • Manage tender processes, analyse submissions and prepare tender reports.
  • Administer construction contracts and provide commercial advice to clients.
  • Assess variations and manage change control procedures.
  • Prepare valuations, interim payment recommendations and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and financial reporting.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, consultants and contractors throughout project delivery.
  • Support project teams in achieving programme, budget and quality objectives.
  • Attend site meetings and undertake site visits as required.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a closely related construction discipline.
  • Membership of, or progression towards, a recognised professional body such as RICS (or equivalent).
  • Previous consultancy or client-side quantity surveying experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Well organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive, motivated and committed to delivering a high standard of professional service.
