We are assisting in the search for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join a major construction project in Gloucestershire.
Working on a large-scale, complex development, you will play a pivotal role in the commercial leadership of the project, managing a large team, ensuring robust financial management, contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and commercial performance from inception through to final account.
This position would suit a commercially astute professional with experience delivering major projects and leading commercial teams within a fast-paced construction environment.
- Provide commercial leadership across the project lifecycle
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, and financial performance
- Lead the procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
- Lead change management, variations, and compensation event processes
- Manage and mentor commercial team members
- Support project leadership with strategic commercial advice and decision-making
- Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and supply chain partners
Previous experience as a Senior Commercial Manager, Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor, or Commercial Lead:
- Proven track record delivering major construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, or other standard forms of contract
- Experience managing large subcontractor packages and complex supply chains
- Excellent commercial, contractual, and negotiation skills
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
