North Bristol | £40,000 to £42,000 | Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Our client is an independent training provider delivering apprenticeships and commercial training across business, healthcare, childcare and the trades. Electrical, plumbing and gas, and fire and security all run from their North Bristol centre. The trades team is expanding and this is a new position within it.

The role is to teach and assess learners on the Fire Emergency Security Systems Level 3 Apprenticeship, taking them from enrolment through to End Point Assessment. The client is looking for someone from the industry rather than a career teacher moving to a new subject.

The role

  • Deliver classroom teaching against the Fire Emergency Security Systems Level 3 standard
  • Assess learner portfolios, which are managed electronically, and track progress against the standard
  • Prepare learners for End Point Assessment, both one to one and in groups
  • Keep accurate records for every learner on your caseload

What you need

  • NVQ Level 3 in a fire and security or electrical discipline
  • Substantial hands-on experience in fire and security installation, fire alarm systems, and security system installation and commissioning
  • Enhanced DBS, arranged before you start

A teaching or assessing qualification is an advantage but is not essential. The client provides full training on the teaching side.

The package

  • £40,000 to £42,000 depending on experience
  • 26 days annual leave, exclusive of bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • Life insurance
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • On-site parking
