Thatcher Associates are working on behalf of a specialist construction client in the Caribbean region seeking an ambitious and hands-on Site Engineer who is looking to take the next step towards a long-term career in Project Management. This is a unique opportunity for an engineer from a strong civil engineering background to join a structured development pathway into senior project leadership while working on prestigious high-end residential developments in the Caribbean.
The company specialises in bespoke luxury developments featuring complex and intricate reinforced concrete structures, architecturally demanding designs, and exceptionally high-quality finishes. These are far from standard residential schemes and require technically strong engineers who enjoy challenging projects and take pride in delivering exceptional construction quality.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced project leaders and receive ongoing mentoring and training to support their transition into an Assistant Project Manager position. This is not a traditional Site Engineer role. The client is specifically looking for someone with strong site delivery experience who is ready to broaden their responsibilities and develop commercially, operationally, and strategically as part of a long-term Project Management succession plan.
The successful candidate will relocate to the British Virgin Islands and play a key role in delivering technically challenging and high-specification projects in a unique international environment.
- Supporting the successful delivery of high-end residential and civil engineering projects from site through to completion
- Managing day-to-day site operations, subcontractors, and programme coordination
- Assisting with planning, procurement, commercial reporting, and client coordination
- Working closely with senior management as part of a structured development programme into Project Management
- Contributing to technical problem-solving, quality assurance, and construction methodology
- Supporting stakeholder and client relationships throughout project delivery
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a strong reinforced concrete (RC) background essential. A hands-on and practical approach to construction delivery is required. Candidates should be motivated to progress into senior management and Project Management roles, with the ability to manage technically detailed and quality-driven projects. Any construction/building experience would be a strong advantage, and exposure to architecturally complex or bespoke projects is advantageous.
Benefits include:
- Up to USD $100,000 tax-free salary plus package
- Structured training and mentoring towards Project Management
- Long-term career progression into senior leadership roles
- Relocation support package
If you are a driven Site Engineer looking to accelerate your career into Project Management and want to work on technically challenging, high-quality developments in a unique international setting, Thatcher Associates would be pleased to hear from you.
