We’re looking for an Application Developer to join our Data & Development team and play a key role in building high-quality applications and APIs that support our mission-driven work. We provide independent automotive risk intelligence to help partners safely, securely and sustainably adopt new vehicle technologies.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems through clean, well-designed code, and who wants to work in a collaborative, Agile environment using modern cloud technologies. You’ll contribute to the ongoing modernization of our application estate while helping to improve development standards and practices across the team.
Responsibilities- Design, build and maintain applications and RESTful APIs using Java and Python
- Develop scalable, secure solutions using Microsoft Azure services
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git
- Integrate applications with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Write high-quality, testable code and help improve development standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment
- Practical experience in application development or a similar environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Python and API development and integration
- Working knowledge of Azure, cloud-based applications and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with databases, automated testing and secure coding practices
- Confidence working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging platforms or API Management tools
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), or data modelling concepts
- Experience in OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect and MFA
- Salary - Circa £47,200 dependent on skills & experience
- 10% non-contributory pension

We understand the benefits of remote and in-person collaboration and therefore have a hybrid working model – you’ll be expected to work from our office in Thatcham at least two days per week.
