At Thatcham Research the data products we deliver really make a difference. From providing our insurer members with research intelligence into how an emerging piece of new vehicle technology may reduce accidents, to providing our repair customers with training and information enabling, safe, sustainable repair to return vehicles back to pre-accident condition. This Product Owner role sits within the Insurance vertical and will ensure the vision, roadmap and the developments contained within it all drive increased benefit and value to our customers, whilst remaining aligned to the product strategy.
You’ll join an established team who work closely with our customers to understand their evolving needs. Once settled in the role, you’ll be responsible for managing the annual product development roadmap for a designated product set for the Insurance vertical. As the ‘product expert’ within the business, you’ll be empowered to make decisions impacting product, customer requirements and expectations, with guidance and support from the Product Managers.

- Deliver with excellence: Oversee development processes to ensure high-quality outcomes that meet business expectations.
What you bring

- Proven experience: Solid background as a B2B software or data Product Owner, with a track record of delivering successful solutions.
- Agile mindset: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, especially Scrum, and how to apply them effectively.
- Customer-focused discovery: Skilled in running workshops, conducting interviews, and mapping user journeys to uncover real needs.
- Clear communicator: Able to write compelling, customer-centric user stories and epics, and manage them with precision.
- Team player: You foster collaboration and spark innovation to elevate the product development process.
- Lifecycle know-how: Comfortable navigating the full software development lifecycle.
- (Bonus): Experience in automotive or insurance risk-based products is a plus—but not a must.

When we work
Our standard working hours are 8:30 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday, early finish on Friday – 8:30 – 15:45 (Talk to us about flexible working if this doesn’t quite suit you – we take work-life balance seriously!)

We understand the benefits of remote and in-person collaboration and therefore have a hybrid working model – you’ll be expected to work from our office in Thatcham at least two days per week.

With an on-site Crash Laboratory, Repair Technology Centre and Training Academy, our research expertise is driving some of the very latest automotive developments in technology, materials and standards in this fast moving and highly technical industry.
Our Gamston facility is one of the UK’s leading sites for active safety, trialling and assessing the latest crash avoidance and driver assistance technologies.
