The Production & Stores Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily manufacturing and stores operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of engineered products.
The role involves supervising production & stores team members, optimising workflow and resource utilisation, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring pick & production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently achieved, while promoting a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and respect for people.

Key Accountabilities Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance Maintain a safe and compliant working environment Ensure team members follow all health, safety and environmental procedures Conduct regular safety inspections, racking inspections, audits and risk assessments Investigate incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions as required Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives Production & Stores Team Management Supervise daily production & picking operations to ensure achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets Monitor production & picking performance and take immediate corrective action when performance falls below expectations Ensure production & picking schedules are met while maintaining quality standards Coordinate labour resources effectively to optimise productivity and minimise downtime Escalate operational issues appropriately and support rapid problem resolution Quality Assurance Ensure products are manufactured to quality standards and customer requirements Monitor quality metrics and support investigations into defects or non-conformances Conduct root-cause analysis using 8-Step Problem-Solving tools Verify adherence to standard operating procedures and quality controls Drive a "right first time" culture throughout the production team Performance Monitoring Track and report production KPIs Analyse operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions Ensure accurate production records and reporting Process Reliability and Continuous Improvement Ensure builds are carried out consistently to approved work instructions, drawings, and customer specifications, and support the development and introduction of standard work across the team's working patterns Monitor process performance (yield, first-pass rate, on-time completion) and lead root cause analysis and corrective action when issues arise Apply lean principles such as 5S, visual management, waste reduction and line balancing to improve flow, productivity, and lead time Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities, involving the team and working with Engineering and Quality to implement and sustain changes Support the smooth introduction of new products and engineering changes into production, feeding back on manufacturability and process risk Ensure tools, fixtures and test equipment are fit for purpose, correctly calibrated and used safely, raising issues promptly with the Quality and Manufacturing Engineering team Team Leadership Lead, motivate, and develop production & stores associates Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities Conduct regular team briefings and performance reviews Manage attendance, discipline, and employee relations matters in accordance with company policies Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, accountability, and continuous learning Education, Experience & Knowledge: Experience of leading and coaching a team IT skills (Basic Word & Excel, PowerPoint) Experience of working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment Knowledge and understanding of process management and Visual Management
