Your Role: As Thanx reaches new financial milestones, we’re expanding our R&D team and seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our leadership. You’ll drive high-performance culture, strengthen team relationships, and ensure delivery on high-impact roadmap initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Cultivate Culture: Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability across your team.
  • Empower Your Team: Build trusted relationships through candid feedback, career mentorship, and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure Delivery Excellence: Oversee the successful execution of priorities, balancing speed with quality in every deliverable.
  • R&D Collaboration: Partner with R&D leadership to address process and organizational improvements and drive efficiency.
  • Develop Talent: Conduct regular 1:1s, offer mentorship, and support career growth, helping your team reach new heights.
  • Recruit and Onboard: Lead the hiring and onboarding process to bring in and integrate new talent effectively.
  • Boost Team Performance: Monitor and improve team morale, productivity, and overall performance.
  • Drive Innovation: Champion a culture of innovation, encouraging new ideas and collaboration across teams.
  • AI Evangelization: Promote reflexive AI usage strategies and techniques.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced Leader: 6+ years as an individual contributor and 2+ years managing engineering teams.
  • People-Centric: You see success through the growth, morale, and performance of your team.
  • Candid Communicator: Skilled at delivering and receiving feedback, even in tough conversations.
  • Remote Management Pro: Proven success managing remote teams in an agile environment.
  • Technical Mentor: Strong technical background that enables you to support your team through complex challenges.
  • Process Driven: History of leading teams through cross-functional or cross-organizational projects.

  • Proficiency with web and mobile frameworks.
  • BS or higher in Computer Science.
  • Experience at a growth-stage startup.
  • Backend: Ruby on Rails, gRPC.
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Fargate, Terraform, Docker.
  • Data: Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Looker.

Leveling & Location: Thanx uses structured internal levelling and location-based compensation. Final levelling and compensation are determined through the interview process based on experience, scope, and work location, and any offer will align to the appropriate range.
