Tree Safety and Conservation Manager 37 hours per week Thanet District Council’s Open Spaces Team is looking for an experienced tree and conservation management professional to lead the implementation of Thanet’s biodiversity improvements. We have already started with the planting of the first of six mini-woodlands across Thanet in the next two years but there is much more to do. The role is based at the Open Spaces Depot in Margate (set hours of operation 7.30am to 3.30pm) and includes the line management of the Tree Team and Tree & Biodiversity Coordinator. Your experience of managing teams will ensure we maximise the outputs from the team to keep open spaces safe whilst conserving tree stock and biodiversity wherever possible, including leading on the Council’s two trees planted for every tree felled policy. This is a great opportunity for a forward thinking professional who can manage both day to day operations and work strategically, developing strategies and plans to increase tree cover as well as increasing biodiversity across Thanet.
