Join Our Team as a Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Technician at Thames Water. We’re recruiting skilled and dedicated Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Technicians to join our growing team across North London. Working hours: 45 hours per week
What you'll be doing as a Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Technician:
- Lead a two-person R&M team, ensuring all maintenance and repair tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Be a key player in keeping vital infrastructure running smoothly.
- Work on a shift pattern including: 1 in 4 weekends, 1 in 4 weeks on a late shift, and 1 in 8 weeks on standby (Average 45 hours per week).
- Flexibility for overtime during peak periods is essential.
Essential criteria:
- Experience or training in repair and maintenance – ideally within the water industry.
- Comfortable using computers and IT equipment.
- Proactive, solution-focused, and capable of working independently.
- Ability to communicate technical issues in a clear and simple way.
- Positive, “right first time” attitude and open to change.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather.
- Confident, motivated, and committed to high standards.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
- Streetworks (NRSWA) or SSSTS qualification.
- Level 2 Service Avoidance.
- First Aid Qualification.
Desirable qualifications:
- Parts C1 & E of the UK Driving Licence.
- Mains & Service Laying Training.
- Underground Cable Detection.
- Manual Handling Training.
- Mini Digger / JCB Qualifications.
- Lorry Loader Training.
- Deep Excavation / Trench Timbering Training.
- Temporary Works Qualification.
- Abrasive Wheels Certification.
