Thames Water is seeking a proactive PMO Analyst (Governance & Planning) to play a vital role in driving the successful delivery of our Retail transformation programmes.

Overview

As our PMO Analyst, you will be responsible for embedding best‑practice governance, analysing performance data, and providing senior leaders with actionable insights to keep our programmes on track. You’ll gain a deep understanding of the various programmes and ensure the business transformation stays on course. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing demand, forecasting future needs, and ensuring resources are optimally deployed. Your work will directly influence key decisions around service improvements, cost management, and the future direction of our Retail strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retail Governance & Planning
    • Manage the full Retail plan, including Digital initiatives, Front Door submissions and the Retail Strategy plan.
    • Work with Retail, Digital, Change and Finance teams to gather monthly updates, track benefits, and maintain accurate forecasts.
    • Monitor CAPEX/OPEX spend and support prioritisation and long‑term capacity planning.
    • Coordinate Retail SME resource requests, tracking capacity and availability.
    • Produce clear insights on investment, ROI, efficiencies, and delivery pipeline performance.
    • Maintain integrated programme plans, RAID logs and key dependencies.
  • Change Management
    • Support the Retail Front Door process and provide cover for the Change Management Analyst during absences.
    • Assist the Demand & Planning Manager when required.
    • Maintain programme plans, RAID logs and dependencies to support effective delivery.

What you should bring to the role

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need:

  • Excellent stakeholder management, the ability to influence and challenge and experience of collaborating with operational teams.
  • PMO, Project Management or demand prioritisation experience within a planning function.
  • A solid understanding of end‑to‑end business operations and Customer Services strategy.
  • Previous experience with RAID management - Designing and delivering methodology that identifies and monitors risks, threats & opportunities.
  • A collaborative working style and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Excellent time management and workload prioritisation skills.
  • Evidence of leading schedule and governance activities – scheduling and conducting reviews at key milestones during & after change initiatives.
