Join our specialist team protecting water quality across London and the Thames Valley. No industry experience is required, just a desire to work in the water industry and be trained to carry out this vital and interesting role.
Youll be driving around, visiting domestic and commercial properties across a region, to assess plumbing systems to ensure they comply with the Water Supply & Fittings Regulations.
What youll be doing as a Water Regulations Inspector:
- Carrying out both reactive and proactive inspections to support regulatory targets.
- Checking the work of approved plumbers and keeping an eye on standards, skills and customer service.
- Checking reduced-pressure zone valve installations.
- Helping with high-risk and high-profile investigations, including more complex cases where water quality contamination has been confirmed.
- Looking at and helping manage the notifications the business receives about plumbing changes.
Base location: Your base location can be flexible but ideally in South London or the Thames Valley depending on where you live.
Working hours: 38 hours 7:30am to 3:36 pm, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role:
- Valid driving license - you will be driving a company van.
- You may have hands-on practical experience within the plumbing, construction or vehicle mechanic industry. But we also welcome applications from college or university leavers who are keen to start their career in the water industry.
- Awareness of Health and Safety regulations and how they are implemented in a work environment will be beneficial.
- City and Guilds Craft certificate in Plumbing or NVQ equivalent would be advantageous, but not essential.
