We are seeking a full-time permanent Process Controller (Water) to join our Reading operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team of professionals committed to delivering the production of millions of litres of water for customers across Reading and the surrounding areas.

Reporting to the Production Manager and working alongside other Process Technicians, you will act as a key member of the area operations team in delivering a high standard of work across our Water Treatment Works (WTW) and Reservoirs.

Location: Reading Fobney RG2 0SF, however you will cover Reading and the surrounding areas

Hours: Monday - Friday, 38 hours per week, 7.30am - 15:36pm, plus a standby rota

What you will be doing as a Process Controller (Water):

  • Following the appropriate training, you'll learn how to operate and optimise all processes and equipment onsite to ensure water quality, compliance, safety and operational efficiency.
  • Respond to reactive work to maintain operational output.
  • Complete scheduled planned work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Taking responsibility for your own Health and Safety, as well as for others on site by promoting a safe working environment.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders for completion of large-scale planned work on-site.
  • Support with the training of apprentices when required.

The essential criteria to help you succeed in this role are:

  • A full UK driving license is required as you will be travelling to different sites; you will be provided with a company van, full PPE, and tools.
  • Health & Safety Knowledge and experience.
  • Confidence making decisions about our sites under pressure.
  • Ability to demonstrate logical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and rapport building skills to establish strong relationships with stakeholders quickly.

The desirable criteria to help you succeed in the role are:

  • Management of Water Production qualification (or equivalent), or water industry experience.
  • Strong physical fitness as you may have to work in confined spaces and work at height following completion of appropriate training.
  • Process Control Experience.
