Shift Process Operator – Beckton Sewage Treatment Works
We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Process Operator at our Beckton Sewage Treatment Works.
Responsibilities
- Support in‑flight reactive and planned activities while keeping key stakeholders informed at all times.
- Manage all reactive work by carrying out risk assessments; liaising with teams, and escalating when required. Ensuring asset standard compliance is adhered to at all times.
- Support planned activities, ensuring that all enabling is completed promptly, resulting in reduced planned activities.
- Monitoring daily alarms to identify potential plant issues. Interrogate, analyse and interpret available data to make informed decisions and elevate accordingly.
- Follow and comply with company Health & Safety procedures, and auditing practices, and maintain records.
- Act as technical support for isolation, sharing information regarding process risks and other Health & Safety issues. While monitoring all alarms to ensure appropriate, timely action is taken.
Location & Working Pattern
Base Location: Beckton – IG11 0AD.
Working Pattern: Permanent – 36 hours per week shift pattern.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential criteria:
- Boiler operation and turbine/generator experience.
- Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
- Experience in a relevant industry and with experience in helping to manage or control the appropriate processes.
- Technical expertise and responsibility may require additional qualifications.
- Good practical experience in the specialist process gained in a related role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Fully competent at using the appropriate company IT systems and office software.
Desirable:
- Technical C&G or HNC.
- Previous experience with SCADA systems.
