Join us as a Senior Project Engineer in Thames Water’s dynamic Capital Delivery team and play a key role in delivering high‑quality project design, safe and efficient delivery, and outstanding customer outcomes. Working alongside a Principal Engineer, you’ll help uphold the standards that keep our major infrastructure projects running smoothly — and your contribution will make a meaningful impact across the business.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Engineer:

  • Lead design engineering for Water Network Projects in line with project delivery procedures.
  • Take a lead role in planning and delivering design activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet time and cost targets.
  • Act as the key contact for the CDM Designer or Principal Designer responsibilities.
  • Apply strong risk management skills — identifying, mitigating, and controlling risks, and adding value during outline design.
  • Provide technical assurance during the delivery, commissioning, and handover of assets.
  • Manage multiple projects and oversee work delivered by external consultants.

This is a hybrid role based in Maple Lodge, with 2–3 days a week on site within London and the Thames Valley, 36 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Degree‑level education (or equivalent) in Civil or Mechanical engineering discipline, plus professional chartership.
  • Strong experience in water network design and technical assurance.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Experience managing project teams and taking accountability for delivery.
  • Confidence using company IT systems and Office software.
