Be part of something that truly matters. Thames Water is on a mission to transform and modernise our wastewater infrastructure — and we’re looking for a Senior Technical Assurance Engineer with a strong Engineering background to lead the way on some of our most ambitious Major Projects.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with diverse internal stakeholders, including engineers, asset management, and operations, to shape fit‑for‑purpose solutions and influence the balance of innovation, value for money and resilience.
  • Collaborate with and assure consultants and contractors supporting the delivery of often large, complex capital projects.
  • Support preliminary, outline and detailed design with our delivery partners.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, policies, standards and expectations so solutions are delivered safely and meet the technical and environmental requirements of the Project Brief.
  • Support Thames Water’s ‘triple zero’ Health, Safety, and well‑being vision by conducting audits and reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Identify and support the management of delivery risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the creation of Project Briefs and respond to RFIs.
  • Train and mentor team members in treatment processes, procedures and compliance requirements to ensure effective and efficient treatment.

Role details:

  • Hybrid basis – Clearwater Court, Reading, required on site and in the office three days a week.
  • 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

What you should bring:

  • Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or relevant transferable qualification).
  • Background in design and construction‑related roles.
  • Awareness of applying Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).
  • Technical knowledge and expertise within your discipline and the ability to work with various engineering disciplines to create fully operational solutions.
