We’re looking for a Performance and Risk Data Analyst to join us and support the team in providing insight to our frontline teams, helping them meet Thames Water’s current and future challenges. This is a fixed-term contract for 1 year.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain data models that release intelligence and insight, enabling clear and accurate decision metrics that support the operation of our assets.
- Apply statistical modelling, data mining, innovative analytical tools, and advanced data visualisation techniques to identify trends and provide insight into asset performance and risk.
- Collaborate with operational teams and other stakeholders across the business, sharing performance and risk insights to support the consistent and efficient delivery of asset health performance commitments.
- Operate, maintain, and deploy operational performance reports to deliver accurate and trusted insights, with appropriate commentary, including ownership of regulatory reports.
- Undertake performance and behavioural analysis on waste network assets, interpreting asset and operational data to identify performance trends and risk insights, and share findings using clear visualisations and commentary.
- Use data insight and operational knowledge to create interventions for operational delivery teams, focusing on enhancing asset operation and reducing risk. Interventions are actively tracked to ensure timely delivery against planned outcomes.
- Maintain existing data management processes, monitor key data quality metrics, and proactively work with functional experts and data engineers to resolve process failures or data quality issues.
- Identify and propose new developments to improve processes and models.
What you should bring to the role
- Strong analytical background, with Excel, SQL, and Power BI essential.
- Experience with MS Access, Python, and Databricks would be advantageous.
- Solid relevant business and technical experience, ideally within utilities, engineering, or asset-based environments.
- Experience of producing detailed management reports.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to understand the wider context of analytical tasks.
- Good communication skills and a self-driven approach to work.
- Excellent IT skills, including relevant industry-specific tools and systems, as well as MS Office.
