We are looking for a Project Engineer to join Thames Water permanently.

A unique opportunity to work alongside the Engineering Solutions Lead in Waste Network Operations, delivering a suite of both planned and reactive DMC projects. A new function within the Shared Services structure, looking to manage the process of operationally focused intervention and network repair projects, taking concepts from cradle to grave in a fast-paced environment.

The role will provide exposure to reactive and emergency projects within operations, requiring contractor, stakeholder, and project management skills.

We are seeking an engineering professional to drive solution development and ultimately support the regional operational teams. Previous experience in either an engineering or operationally based role is critical, with the individual being passionate about driving change and introducing innovation opportunities.

  • Monday – Friday 36 hours per week.
  • Permanent full-time position.

What you will be doing as a Project Engineer?

  • Health & Safety management of projects and programmes of work.
  • Producing project briefs and programme specifications.
  • Assessment of tender returns.
  • Project and Programme Management.
  • Engineering support to network operations.
  • De-risking and solution development.
  • Providing technical assurance/guidance throughout delivery.
  • Contractor management and liaison.
  • Internal stakeholder management.
  • Site audits and CDM paperwork.

What you should bring to the role

  • Waste networks operational knowledge.
  • Experience with pipe replacement techniques. (open-cut & trenchless)
  • Experience in sewer rehabilitation techniques.
  • An awareness of waste network design requirements.
  • Desirable to hold formal engineering qualifications or an approved training scheme.
  • Experience in managing design, delivery, and handover of projects.
  • An understanding of Client, PD and PC duties under CDM 2015 + H&S best practices.
  • Desirable to hold IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Can reactively respond to operations and attend sites around the estate.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have your transport.
