The Thames Water Inventory and Supply team are the custodian of network & critical materials, field engineering parts & tools and mobile plant, which are managed through our distribution centres, strategic distribution hubs and depots. Operating on a 24/7 -365 basis to provide real-time distribution and equipment service to support the Thames Water businesses in meeting our service commitments.

Base Location - Kidlington - OX5 1QT. Working Pattern or Hours - 45 hours per week, Monday-Friday. 7:30 am – 5 pm.

What you’ll be doing as a Logistics Scheduler:

  • This role carries a high level of responsibility and requires an organised person who is able to plan efficiently, will engage well within the team and has the ability to provide clear communication out to the wider stakeholders involved.
  • Engage with the Planning team and Enablers to ascertain workload and requirements to prioritise jobs both on a planned and reactive basis.
  • Plan and allocate collection and delivery tasks to our Support Drivers with the appropriate skill set and their respective operating geography through Salesforce (system).
  • Plan job for works preparation (SLG, cone offs and letter drop) using Salesforce to ensure all materials and equipment are delivered to the correct address and are set up ahead of the start of works.
  • Job details should be fully compliant with all traffic management / streetworks legislation to avoid any fixed penalty notices/permit fines.
  • Ensure that Support Drivers maintain a healthy and safe work environment and endorse the Thames Water Health & Safety commitment.
  • Manage, allocate and prioritise the Support Drivers' work stack to meet priority jobs (2 hour/4 hour) that need to be completed.
  • Monitor the progress of jobs by regular updates from the planning team, dig teams (gangs) and supervisors to identify if any additional materials, plant, or equipment are required.
  • Provide daily reports of resource utilisation and planned/reactive jobs completed to maintain Inventory Field Operations service commitments.
  • Monitor collections to ensure no overruns and daily engagement with the planning team to ensure that permit end dates do not expire – any potential fines should be immediately escalated to supervisors.
  • Track Salesforce for work with a forecasted completion date to plan site inspections and site clearance for support drivers.
  • Provide a weekly report on expected weekend work to ensure resources and materials are made available.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Need to be organised and have a good understanding of work management processes and systems.
  • You will have excellent attention to detail and good scheduling/planning skills.
  • Competent to work with business-critical systems such as Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
