We have a great opportunity at Oxford Sewage Treatment Works for a Process Technician (THP). As a Process Technician (THP), you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and reporting any defective items to ensure a swift repair or attempting a first-time fix yourself where possible. You will work closely with other site teams to ensure the smooth running and production of a good quality biosolids product which is used to generate green energy and is then recycled back to land.
Base Location: Oxford STW - OX4 4XU.
Working Pattern or hours: 38 Hours per week, plus the inclusion of a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.
What you'll be doing as a Process Technician (THP)?
- Ensure the health, safety and well-being of myself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors is always my top priority by displaying the correct behaviours at all times by complying with the Health and Safety at work regulations and Thames Waters Health and Safety guidelines.
- Take responsibility for operating sites in line with environmental permits to protect the environment; general maintenance of equipment and site, taking effluent samples to monitor and improve biological performance.
- Undertake both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding to identify issues, fix these or escalate, planned maintenance of plant and equipment on a daily basis.
- Record work and asset information to improve business performance along with identifying possible future risks and recommending changes in the course of your day-to-day work and to raise these for resolution as required.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience and positively contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
- Interact with all of our customers (internal & external) in a timely, professional, efficient, respectful and polite manner.
- Train, coach and assist in the development of new starters, apprentices and tech 1s colleagues to achieve targets and work closely with their managers to identify gaps in knowledge and respond with coaching support.
What you should bring to the role?
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience of delivering against challenging upper quartile business targets and performance commitments.

- A positive approach to handling changes, embracing all nature of change including technology, process, behavioural and organisational change.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service both internally and externally.

- Boiler or BOAS training.
