Hours: 36 per week, Monday to Friday
We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Maintenance Technical Coordinator to join our Thames Valley North Wastewater Operations team. This role will be based in the Cotswolds, Cherwell and Oxford areas, working predominantly in the field and closely with a supportive experienced operations team.
Responsibilities
- Manage pre‑requisites within SAP (materials, permits, resources and services) for all complex jobs for planned and reactive work across maintenance and operations.
- Use technical expertise and data captured from the field to design operationally critical jobs.
- Highlight key operational risks across the area and present these to obtain funding.
- Maintain the availability of plant and equipment and optimise treatment process performance.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with other internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on technical issues and generate solutions to operational risks.
- Obtain quotes, order materials and 3rd party services through our framework contractors.
- Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are managed correctly, through safe system of work approval, reviewing RAMS, permitting and site audits.
- Ensure that our legal statutory maintenance requirements are met, including items such as lifting equipment, pressure vessels and generators.
Qualifications
- Completed a time‑served apprenticeship or hold a recognised technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven, relevant experience as a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technician or ICA Technician, with a strong understanding of plant, equipment and operational processes.
- Highly logical, able to decide on and build the dependencies between tasks.
- Collaborative, able to work closely with Planners, Field Performance Managers, suppliers and 3rd parties.
- Technically experienced with a good understanding of how to maintain assets.
- Good local knowledge of how important an asset is to a site and how it relates to other assets.
- Meticulous at documenting the finer details of what needs to take place.
- Able to manage a large workload of numerous jobs in parallel.
- Competent with IT systems (will use SAP extensively) and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues relevant to the industry, ideally IOSH or equivalent qualified.
- A full current driving licence is essential for this position.
