This role will include the delivery of training sessions in person a number of days a week (3-4 days variable). It is based in Reading but involves frequent travel throughout the Thames Valley area. Please apply only if you are comfortable with the location and required travel.
The Management and Leadership Trainer will design, deliver, and evaluate blended training programmes to develop the skills and capabilities of managers and leaders. The role focuses on equipping managers with the skills and tools to lead effectively, enhance team performance, and achieve organisational objectives and supporting the underpinning leadership culture at Thames Water. Specifically, this role will contribute to the delivery of phase 2 of our preferred leadership development initiative, the Living Leader, whilst primarily focusing on the delivery of a management skills learning offer. The audience base will come from across the business.
What you’ll be doing as a Management & Leadership Skills Trainer:
- Develop engaging and interactive training programmes, including workshops, webinars, and e-learning modules
- Tailor training content to align with organisational goals, industry trends, and team-specific requirements and incorporate sector-specific topics and scenarios
- Facilitate management and leadership training sessions using various instructional methods (e.g., role-plays, case studies, group discussions)
- Provide one-to-one coaching and mentoring to managers when needed within formal training environments
- Prepare reports on training outcomes and present findings to stakeholders
- Work closely with Learning Consultancy, People Team leads, department heads, and senior leadership to understand organisational needs
- Advocate for a culture of continuous learning within the organisation.
Base Location: Reading – With requirements to travel frequently

What you should bring to the role:
- Proven experience in management training, leadership development, or a similar role
- Experience in designing and delivering training programmes for various management levels
- Previous experience within people management
- Experience designing and delivering training programmes at a larger scale
- High-level presentation and facilitation skills
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
