Join us as a Senior Project Engineer in Thames Water's dynamic Capital Delivery team and play a key role in delivering high-quality project design, safe and efficient delivery, and outstanding customer outcomes. Working alongside a Principal Engineer, you'll help uphold the standards that keep our major infrastructure projects running smoothly and your contribution will make a meaningful impact across the business.
What you'll be doing as a Senior Project Engineer:
- Lead design engineering for Water Network Projects in line with project delivery procedures.
- Take a lead role in planning and delivering design activities.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet time and cost targets.
- Act as the key contact for the CDM Designer or Principal Designer responsibilities.
- Apply strong risk management skills, identifying, mitigating, and controlling risks, and adding value during outline design.
- Provide technical assurance during the delivery, commissioning, and handover of assets.
- Manage multiple projects and oversee work delivered by external consultants.
This is a hybrid role based in Maple Lodge, with 2-3 days a week on site within London and the Thames Valley, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role:
- Degree-level education (or equivalent) in Civil or Mechanical engineering discipline, plus professional chartership.
- Strong experience in water network design and technical assurance.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience managing project teams and taking accountability for delivery.
- Confidence using company IT systems and Office software.
